Winter Investment Outlook

What did TD customers buy in Q4 2016?

In a strong quarter for market and fund performance, fund buys from our Recommended Funds list by our customers were more than double the value of fund sells. We have said before that our customers are knowledgeable in terms of their need to focus on a long-term investment strategy and these figures bear this out. As in the previous quarter, these assets went into funds across a diverse range of asset classes.

Important Information

Our most popular investments should not be taken as a personal recommendation to buy or sell a particular fund or stock. Instead it is simply an indication of the general buying and selling trends of our customers observed in the period stated.

Most popular Recommended Funds

BlackRock Gold and General, for so long number one this year, has been knocked off top spot as the most popular choice with TD Direct Investing customers. It has been replaced by the HSBC American Index Fund.

BlackRock drops to second place. Jupiter India is another fund that has enjoyed heightened popularity, especially in the second half of 2016 and its place in third on the list for the quarter reflects that.

The First State Global Listed Infrastructure Fund makes the top ten list, perhaps as investors turn their attention to infrastructure in light of UK and US policy.
