Fund Your Account

You can fund your TD Trading Account by debit card, bank transfer or by cheque.

Your Trading ISA can be funded by Debit Card or cheque.

For details of how to fund your TD SIPP please log into your account and visit the Fund My Account section in the Payments & Transfers menu.

By Debit Card

We are able to accept GBP Debit Card payments up to the value of £99,999 online or up to £10,000 over the telephone.

We accept EUR Debit card payments using the following card types online:

* Please be aware that if you fund your account in Euros using a Nordea Solo Card issued in Sweden, you will be charged a fee to convert the funds from Swedish Krona to Euros

Please note: we can only take payment up to the value of £10,000 over the phone. The first time you use your card over the phone we will need to complete some additional validation checks which may include phoning you back.

After you make a payment it will be shown on your 'Account History page' immediately. In some cases your trading limit may only be updated overnight, after you have made a payment.

If your trading limit does not update immediately and you wish to place a trade against a recent payment please call us on 0845 607 6002.


By Bank Transfer

If you have banking facilities or a Savings Account with TD you can fund your account by bank transfer. The details you will need to provide to your bank in order to make the transfer differ depending on the type of account and currency that you wish to transfer to TD.

You can find our bank details by logging into your account, going to Payments & Transfers and then Fund My Account, and clicking the Help button.

Funding an ISA
Please note that it is not possible to fund your ISA by Bank Transfer. To fund your ISA you can pay by debit card online.


By Direct Debit

If you operate a TD Certificated Account, you can pay either by direct debit or by cheque. To set up a direct debit from your bank simply complete the Direct Debit form and return it to us (PDF 70KB).


By Cheque

Whilst we currently accept cheques, our preferred option is by debit card or bank transfer.

Please send cheques made payable to TD Direct Investing with your TD account number written on the back to:

Your money will start to earn interest 2 working days after the day we receive your cheque and you can withdraw your money 4 working days after we receive it.


Withdraw Funds

You can request to withdraw funds from your Trading and Trading ISA Accounts online. Cheque withdrawals are currently available however these can only be requested by telephone, will take longer to clear and are less secure.

Login and go to 'Payments and Transfers/Withdraw/Transfer Money'.

By Telephone

Call our Customer Services Team on 0845 607 6002.

We may need to complete additional validation checks the first time you send a payment to a new payee including calling you back to complete additional security checks.
