Before you open a TD SIPP you will need to:

Meet the following criteria

  1. You are a private individual aged between 18 and 74
  2. You are a UK Resident
  3. You are applying for a TD SIPP in your own name

Read the TD SIPP suitability information

SIPPs are aimed at investors who want to be self directed and actively manage their investments to maximise their value for retirement. A TD SIPP is not suitable for every investor. Other types of pensions may be more appropriate.

Prior to making any decision about the suitability of a TD SIPP, or transferring any existing pension plan(s) into a TD SIPP, we recommend that you seek the advice of a suitably qualified financial adviser. Neither TD Direct Investing or AJ Bell Management Limited are able to provide advice.

If you choose not to take advice, we would draw your attention to the following questions before signing-up for the TD SIPP:

  1. Will the TD SIPP meet your aims and investment objectives?
  2. Will you be able to bear any financially related investment risks as a result of investing for retirement in the TD SIPP?
  3. Do you have the necessary experience and knowledge in order to understand the product features described in the Key Features Document and the risks involved in managing your own investment portfolio?
  4. Have you received the necessary information to understand the effect of charges on your pension at retirement? A SIPP may be more expensive than other types of pension.
  5. Do you understand that once you have invested into a TD SIPP you will not be able to withdraw this investment until you reach the age of 55?

By clicking on the “Click here to apply online” button below, you are confirming that you have considered the questions set out above.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise, you may not get back all that you invest and this may affect your income in retirement.
