A SIPP might not be right...

If you want unrestricted access to your money or you only need access to a limited range of investments like those associated with an insurance company personal pension or a stakeholder pension plan. You can’t invest directly into assets such as commercial property. You also can’t open a SIPP if you’re over 74.

A SIPP could be right for you...

TD SIPP

  • If you’re the type of person who likes to make your own investment choices
  • You take an active interest in your retirement and you’re looking for ways to boost your investments
  • You want to plan for your future in a tax-efficient way
  • You know that money invested into a pension means it’s tied up until you’re at least 55
  • If you understand that you can access a wide range of investment types within a SIPP, including international stocks and shares

All investments can fall as well as rise in value and you need to accept there’s a risk, and growth and income isn’t guaranteed. Depending on your circumstances, a SIPP may be more expensive than other types of pension - for example a stakeholder pension.

Like all pensions, the treatment of tax may change in the future, and you need the necessary experience and knowledge to understand the product features explained in the Key Features Document which you'll see when applying. You’ll also need to understand the pension projections and effects of charges set out in the Key Features Illustration.
