We have four main categories for roles across the business:

Solution Delivery
Testing
The testing team has overall accountability for all testing performed by the company
within each phase of testing and the management of test activities performed within a
development project.
Development
The development team is responsible for the development and design of applications as
well as maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
Business Analysis
The Business Analysts play a key role within the delivery of strategic and robust
software solutions delivered by the overall department. As the key project liaison
between business users and software developers, Business/Systems Analysts have a
detailed understanding of both the core business and the IT systems that support the
business.
Programme Delivery
Project Management
The Project Managers are responsible for managing the portfolio of operational and
strategic projects, ensuring alignment to business growth and the successful
management of the program of work meeting defined standards of quality, purpose, time
and budget. They are also responsible for the constant improvement and subsequent
change management of the key project prioritisation and lifecycle processes.
Service Delivery
E-Commerce
The E-commerce support team provide front facing support
for our web trading platforms working closely with the Intel and UNIX teams in the
infrastructure department.
IT service desk
The service desk provides a single point of contact
for all IT related issues for the business and is operated under a number of ITIL
good practices. They are the front face of our IS department facilitating work for
internal customers.
Technical Support
The technical support department are responsible for
supporting employees with their computing equipment. They support the windows desktop
and server platforms and are responsible for simple service requests and more complex
resolutions and investigations of incidents.
Production Support
Production Support are responsible for the efficient resolution of incidents /
enhancements logged by the IT Service Desk to the Production Support team. The team
are responsible for any change affecting all client facing applications which include
over 30 applications. As one of the key liaisons between business users and other
areas of IS, Production Support Analysts have a detailed understanding of both core
business and the IT systems that support the business.
Release, Change & Implementation
This team are responsible for the preparation of all documents for Live
Implementations for all Releases, IS Projects, Ad Hoc Business Projects and IS
Initiatives throughout the year. They provide full end to end implementation
management support for any Live Implementation. In addition the role includes
managing requests to set up new issue trackers, the maintenance of user access and
inclusion of relevant data so that issues can be progressed to resolution.
Vendor Management
This area is responsible for managing the supplier management of numerous third party
supplier relationships from across the IS function ensuring that all suppliers are
giving the best possible service available to support the business goals.
Strategy & Risk
Information Security
Information security have broad responsibilities for Business Continuity Management,
IT Risk Management and the security and integrity of Information assets. They work
with business units to best understand their security needs and ensure information
remains confidential and available when required.
Architecture
The architecture team are responsible for the architecture and design of
comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements on all projects.
They will partner with key roles (e.g. project managers, analysts, developers,
systems architects etc.) to create well-defined solutions that are aligned to the IT
Strategy and leverage common solutions and services, to meet key project goals. The
Network Architects have overall responsibility for the enterprise network topology
design, infrastructure, support policies and procedures.
Infrastructure
The Infrastructure team within Information Systems are accountable for the day to
day operation of the systems on which TD Wealth International runs its Client and
Employee facing systems. The focus of this team is to provide 2nd line support for
technology services in line with SLA's, ensure appropriate control process are
followed to operate our technology, undertake regular scheduled maintenance, use
monitoring tools to maintain stability/performance, drive a future looking technology
platform roadmap and support the delivery of business projects into Production.
The team is split into three separate functions:
Server Management
This team support various server technology platforms across multiple environments.
We currently operate physical and virtual servers across four different platforms -
iSeries, Unix, Windows and Linux.
Database Management
The team supports a large number of database instances based on IBM Domino and
Microsoft SQL technology across a range of environments.
Network & Telephony Management
This team supports both the data, voice and security network infrastructure across
the company. This team works closely with the TDBG Network Team in Toronto to deliver
a high level of service to the business.
Sales, Trading and Marketing
Customer Services
The customer services centre are responsible for providing excellent customer
services to our clients and customers both on the phone and through written
communication. They deal with all customer enquires, complaints, feedback, business
development, monitoring of trading accounts and uk and international trading
requests.
Marketing
This team are responsible for our external web site, promotions, public relations
and media, branding, campaigns and planning.
Operations
Customer Accounts
Customer Accounts are the focal point for opening all types of new accounts across
all brands have direct contact with the customer when additional information is
required or when the customer wishes to change their password. They are responsible
for upgrading the client’s accounts to a variety of new products while also
maintaining various standing data for all clients across all brands. They also ensure
all regulatory requirements are met for Anti Money Laundering, Customer Due
Diligence, TCF and QI.
Settlements
Key responsibilities of the Settlement department can be broken down into three
main areas; effective management of certificated trade settlement ensuring timely
delivery of stock and cash to our customers and market counterparties; deposit and
withdrawal of UK and International stock into or out of customer portfolios;
administration of trade settlement and custody services provided to our corporate
partners such as C&ES and Corporate Nominees.
Office Services
Office Services operate central Post Room for all incoming mail to the business.
They offer an outgoing fulfilment service to all areas on a daily basis, which
includes arranging external couriers and priority mail such as special, recorded and
airmail. They are also responsible for managing customer documentation through file
retrieval.
Reconciliations
Reconciliations are responsible for the reconciliation & oversight of all
internal cash & stock accounts, the distribution and escalation of all
unreconciled positions and reporting of the Month End Certificate.
Structured Products
Structured Products are responsible for monitoring ISA and SIPP accounts to ensure
that they are HMRC compliant and they also undertake the annual reporting on ISAs to
HMRC and investment tax reclaims. They also provide support to CSC and customers by
answering complex ISA and SIPP queries. Lastly they are responsible for charging and
reconciling the Account Management Fee and Nominee Administration Fee, along with all
ISA & SIPP related fees.
Payment Services
Payment Services represent a key back office operation for our clients. They
manage all inbound and outbound payments, corporate payments and oversee the FX
processes for the business. They ensure that our clients receive their payments on
time and in the method of their choosing.
Corporate Actions
Corporate Actions is comprised of 3 separate teams; Allocations, Dividends and
Notifications. The Notification team is responsible for obtaining event information,
ensuring this is complete and from sources deemed to be reliable, before cascading
this in sufficient detail to allow customers to make an informed decision on options
available. The Allocation and Dividend teams are primarily responsible for updating
customer accounts in a timely manner upon receipt of stock and / or cash. The
Dividends team are also responsible for the yearly dispatch of Consolidated Tax
Certificates, preparatory work for QI reporting and supporting the DRIP and SCRIP
offerings.
Transfers
This area is comprised of two separate teams; Nominee Transfers and ISA &
SIPP. They are responsible for the transferring of all electronic client portfolios
held in either a Nominee , ISA or SIPP account , portfolios held overseas and shares
held electronically by a Company registrar. They also perform internal stock account
to account movements.
Exceptions Management
Exceptions Resolution comprises of 4 different areas. They are responsible for
resolving all the exceptions which come out of our reconciliations, ensuring that all
trades are fully reconciled and that our book of records matches that of our external
custodians. In addition they are also responsible for the matching and settlement of
all trades via Crest for UK & Ireland, the generation and amendment of Contract
Notes., Nack Messaging, Transaction reporting and maintaining stock files and
business configuration on behalf of operational departments.
Support
Finance
The TD Wealth International Finance Department provides support across all
entities and brands across the Group in the following areas: financial reporting,
control and planning, provision of business partnering support, data analysis &
management information reporting, treasury management, regulatory reporting and
management of all operational and corporate taxation requirements.
Corporate Social Responsability
There are 3 main elements to our CSR strategy, Children’s Education,
Environment, Well Being. Supporting these 3 elements is the Corporate Giving Strategy
which sets out our commitment to financially give back to the community in a
consistent way through paid time off for volunteering, charitable giving and local
community grants.
Facilities
The Facilities Team are responsible for the building maintenance and soft services
of the TD UK estate which comprises of four office buildings and over 800 employees.
The department is also responsible for Health & Safety, including the
coordination of the Emergency Teams comprising of Fire Marshall, Evacuation and First
Aid teams.
The department manages all space planning, coordinates office moves and is heavily
involved in providing, maintaining and improving the working environment and employee
experience which is an important element of TD culture.
Procurement
The Procurement team manages the end to end acquisition process from the
identification of the need and agreeing the specifications, through to the end of
life disposal of an asset or termination of a service. This includes engaging with a
number of stakeholders to advise on and manage the Invitation to Tender Process and
the subsequent evaluation and contract negotiation.
We are also manage critical contracts within the organisation, ensuring that a
consistent, risk managed approach is taken to reviews and renewals.
In summary we provide a cost effective, risk managed sourcing, tendering,
contracting and purchasing service. This ensures that whilst considering whole life
costs, environmental and social impacts, the business enjoys a sustainable
competitive advantage.
Compliance and Legal
The Compliance function is required to advise the business on the application of
Financial Services Authority (FSA) rules, to manage the day-to-day relationship with
the FSA and to assess the operation of regulatory systems and controls in place.
The Legal department review and amend the Customer Terms of Service on a regular
basis and also work on commercial agreements with third parties and service
providers. They also assist on due diligence work conducted throughout the business
on possible acquisitions for the firm and provide general legal guidance on projects
and on business as usual.
Operational Risk Management
The Credit Risk and Recoveries team concentrates on areas of perceived risk and
more complex customer debt cases.
The Operational Risk Team will work closely with the Operational Risk Managers to
promote and develop risk management tools for business processes, analyse the success
of these, assess the implications of change initiatives on the operational risk
profile and to report any significant changes to the operational risk profile to the
Risk & Control Committee.
The Financial Crime Prevention team assist in the prevention, detection and
investigation of internal/external fraud and the delivery of the fraud prevention
strategy across the business.
Audit
The internal audit team within TD are responsible for the planning and completion
of a risk based audit plan for TD operations in the UK and Europe. They provide
independent and objective assurance to the Board of Directors of TDBFG and aim to add
value and improve operations. We achieve this through the evaluation of the
effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes using a systematic
and disciplined risk based approach.
